bblean 64 bit can't add plugins?
Hi there,
Was wondering why whenever i try to add plugin on bblean 64 bit it spits an error message "This plugin cannot be loaded". With possibly a dll missing or not compatible with windows verison or not compatible with blackbox version.
is it a 64bit thing?

My guess would be that it's a 64-bit issue.

Re: bblean 64 bit can't add plugins?
I'm having the same problem with bbl 1.17 64-bit. I notice that, though bblean itself is 64-bit, bbleanskin is 32-bit, and it runs fine. I'm sure some tweaking was necessary to get it all to work.
I've also noticed that the 64-bit versions bbkeys won't recognize a Win+Arrow key combo, and so moving from workspace to workspace doesn't work by default, nor does moving apps from workspace to workspace. All other Win+Key combinations seem to work, such as Win+Ctrl+Arrow, or Win+X, and so forth.
Grischka, if you're out there, don't let bblean die in the 64-bit age!

Re: bblean 64 bit can't add plugins?
It might not be of interrest but running bbLean32 on 64bit Win works well... sort of, still some important plugins crash my bbLean (W7/64 - bbLen/32 1.17.1) some of this are SystemBarEx, bbIcon (version 2.0 for 98/ME seems to work, no captions though) bbSlit does not crash bbLean but I can't see it either... So a lot of the most important plugins will not work...
I found out that as a replacement (not good but is working) it is possible to use: bbKeys 1.17.1 bbLeanBar 1.17.1 bbLeanSkin 1.17.1 have som problems with som windows like explorer.exe and explorer++.exe that refuses to be skinned, Opera will on the other hand be. bbIconBox 1.17.1 bbInteface 0.9.9 (I use this one to create an startmenu to complement bbLeanBar) bbIcons 2.00 by Brian (Tres“ni) Hartvigsen (2003) later version crashes my bbLean Tcl-bb 2.4.8.2
So it is possible to get a descent bbLean even on a 64 bit machine, but it requires a bit work to find out what plugin works and what does not... a 32 bit bbLean on a 64 bit OS allow more plugins to work.

Re: bblean 64 bit can't add plugins?
Good post Azvareth, my experience is the same with bbLean 32 bits in windows 7 64 bits. I tried to use a modified version of old bbIconBox ( I think it was named bbIconBox 0.3 with more drag-and-drop functions ) and it failed so I have to use bbIconBox 1.17. I had a very quick look at the git repository and only found changes in the version string at bbIconBox.cpp: http://git.berlios.de/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=bblean;a=commitdiff;h=308cf9c78c4ccdedf588f8d6f8c61e1b59607c0b, but I suppose that it's not the cause because you can use older plugins.

Yes but I recently discovered that:
changing or adding this blackbox.options.OldTray: true in extensions.rc can make more (not all) recent plugins to work in Win7

Re: bblean 64 bit can't add plugins?
Would be lovely to see some more support for plugins with 64-bit. Most plugin-projects are long-dead though I guess...sadly.

Re: bblean 64 bit can't add plugins?
If the forums were better organized in a way towards targeting 32bit and 64bit users and developers I think that might help out in the long run by keeping things more focused and to the point. It sounds like the original poster is discovering the 64bit transition welcome to plugin compatibility failure hell.
