I'm really a fan of blackbox now. i got three of the best shells on my computer: Xoblite (my fav , so sexy[someone already said that in the forums]), bblean(the one am using actually because the leanbar is important for me) and the bb4win_mod (can anyone say that they've forgotten their first love?).

My stupid question: i know it is a difficult realisation but i was wandering if any of the dev have ever thought of "shelling" (can i say this?) the entire vista/xp? Last week my boss took a look at my desktop and said: wtf!!! I hope i'll never have to borrow this thing from you!!
my answer, with a shiver of pleasure: Now you know what the P stands for in PC!! I didn't got fired but it made me want to change more things.

I am bored with the windows, i don't want to change just the color or title bar or theme the windows (3dc) i want everything to be change. the menus to be bottom or side, the add. bar to be middle etc. whatever crazyness that i can think of...

anybody? or is it a really stupid question?

Ah, ok. Is that the XP explorer? There's some hacks for that around. Mainly just to get rid of stuff though. I use cubic explorer myself. Xplorer2 is also nice.

Actually, it looks like vista explorer. I'm not aware of any hacks for it.

yeah it's explorer. I've edited a screen capture of explorer with paint.net for my example.

But i really hope that one day we will be able to personalize any os or computer to our own tastes.

thanks for CubicExplorer. In an older post you talked about it but when i visited CE page it didn't inspired me then. On the other hand, NexusFile that Residentgrey mentioned in the same post fitted my needs. Now i'm back to minimalism in functions and visuals, CubicExplorer is reeeeallyyyyy nice. I won't say that Nexus was a waste of time or that Cubic is the best, Nexus was just the right thing at certain time. + 8m versus the bulky 11 of nexus...

It's the most minimal one I know of. It has some annoying quirks, but development is churning along.

Some of that can be be changed via res-hacking. Some of the elements are XML based in the Windows GUI. SOmething worth finding online. Look up http://virtualplastic.net.
