 Re: bbKeys 1.80 + bbCore 1.00 - all branches
bbKeys - What's new? - high-performance cross-shell support
- xoblite
- significantly better performance
- bbCore.dll is required - with a wider range of bro@ms supported.
- bbLean family
- full portability of bbKeys for shell switchers
- slight performance tweaks
bbCore - enables all supportable bbLean family bro@ms on xoblite.
- it is required on xoblite & bb4win_mod for this version of bbKeys.
- brings a number of new bro@ms to the bbLean family.
- EditSubmenu, EditPlugin - RC file, LoadDocs
- Use @bb4win in the bbLean family for these commands - as the use of @bbCore on those shells is restricted
- more flexible versions of ActivateTask, BringTo Current, Edit, SwitchToWorkspace & ShowMenu
- EditBox support is available for those who like to embed an open-ended bro@m in a menu. (xoblite support yet to be finalised).
- bbCore 1.0 is incompatible with tcl-bb
The source code is here.

 Re: bbCore - Discussion Thread
1st I like the idea of the plugin and then when I tried to load it, BBClean crashed! bbKeys-1.8 need it in Xoblite, but not in BBClean, or the others branches, is this right?

 Re: bbCore - Discussion Thread
For me, the plugin loads without problems on all shells - including the 0802 bbClean - on Win2k, WinXP & Vista.
The plugin basically allows you to hook into various things that the bb4win shells have long been capable of. Thus it seems surprising that it is causing your system to crash. As it says in both the posts & the documentation, to run any of the new bro@ms on bbClean (or any of the non-xoblite shells), you need to put @bb4win (instead of @bbCore) at the front, otherwise the bro@m won't work.
As you say, bbKeys 1.80 will run fine on bbClean without bbCore.
Can you tell me a little bit more about your setup?

 Re: bbCore - Discussion Thread

 Re: bbCore - Discussion Thread
It's BBMuse and BBBalloon the ones that gives me problem with bbCore. Attachment:
File comment: This is the list of my plugins

I am using BBMuse and BBFooman together, maybe this is not compatible, but without bbCore loaded they work fine. I am using bbClean built at Mar 1 2008 ---------------- Now playing: The Beatles - Unsurpassed Masters Vol. 5 - 08 - Golden Slumbers , Carry That Weight , The End - foobar2000 v0.9.5.3via FoxyTunes

Most of the other plugins you are running look non-contentious. Nothing seems obvious on bbMuse, but I'll try to have a look at it in the next few days.

 Re: bbCore - Discussion Thread
Virtually every bb4win plugin with Transparency has been buggy. When the transparency release(s) of bbLeanSkinMod were posted, I was expecting frequent crash reports. It has been a very pleasant surprise that this seems not to have happened. I'll see whether anything comes up clearly on bbMuse. If you still have trouble with bbBalloon, you could try bbOSD. At a glance, it seems to give you much the same functionality - but I haven't looked into all the detail.

 Re: bbCore - Discussion Thread
I use bbBallon in conjunction with Process Controller which give me when a program start/end, I like to see what's happen in the background. bbBalloon shows me any message that popup in the tray in it's window. The tray is in bbIconBox. ---------------- Now playing: Pat Martino - Exit - I Remember Clifford - foobar2000 v0.9.5.3via FoxyTunes

 Re: bbCore - Discussion Thread
bbCore don't work with bbtcl. Every call of tcl procedure crashes my bbLean_mod.

 Re: bbCore - Discussion Thread
unkamunka Maybe I was wrong and bbCore is incompatible with bbinterface or even with bbLeanMod. Because even unloading of tcl-bb couldn't help.
