Apologies if this is in the wrong place, but I'm having trouble with my Synaptic Touchpad driver when I'm running BB4Win_mod as the shell on my laptop - while I do still have basic functionality, I'm unable to scroll etc.
If I load blackbox.exe on top of explorer it works (and it works normally under Explorer too). While Blackbox is running as the shell, if I open Mouse under the Control Panel, I get the following message:

Unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver.

If you have installed another PS/2 Pointing Device Driver please uninstall the Synaptics driver by clicking on the Yes button. You then need to reinstall your pointing device driver for your external device again.

Yes No
---------------------------

I tried this, completely uninstalled the driver and downloaded + installed the latest driver off the Synaptic website, but it's behaving exactly the same way as before and if I check it under Device Manager, Windows reports the driver working correctly (probably because only part of it isn't functioning). Is this a documented problem and is there a solution for it?

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium x64, a completely new build of BB4Win_Mod 7.11 (Aug 11 2009) with no extra plugins beyond those included. I disabled BBWorkspaceWheel in case that was interfering to no effect.

There has not yet been a build of bb4win_mod for the x64 platform. All the builds that I have done to date have been compiled for 32-bit. That said, what you may be experiencing may be connected with something else.

There *are* a few bb4win flavours that have builds specifically compiled for the x64 platform. have a look at http://bb4win.sourceforge.net/ to see what your choices are.

what I do is load bblean automatically, and then open shellon and load bb4win_mod lol...

That seems to get synaptic to work.

You have any luck finding a build besides bblean to get Synaptics to work?

Wish there was a 64 bit one that can get plugins running.
