 Re: bb4win_mod Discussion Thread
Minimize To Tray - interesting idea, but with a few flaws - which, I suppose, could be due to my not running bb as the main shell here (there, Crowmag, I already said it ). 2 examples - I applied this command to an MS Word document, and now I have a nice Word symbol in the tray. Except I already closed the document. The symbol is resistant to Reconfigure and Restart, and I don't get a right-click menu for it, either (I do see a tooltip when the mouse cursor passes over it). On the other end of the spectrum, and then some, is the Window Media Player. That program is now hidden from me - it's not on any desktop, nor in the tray, and doesn't show up in Task Manager under Applications (it's still in the process list). In other words, I can't get to it (even after I quit BB and returned to the Explorer Shell). Which kind of sucks since bbWin_Mod doesn't (yet) support volume control via menu. On the plus side, I now see, for the very first time in my history of running bb4Win, the sound icon in the tray. And it even changes when I mute the sound! Woo-hoo!!! (so I was wrong - I do still have a way to control volume - but that doesn't mean, Unkamunka, that your shell mustn't gain support for a volume slider in the menu! ).

 Re: bb4win_mod Discussion Thread
Well, thanks then... bbCore was still in plugins.rc, so it showed up in the plugins menu....
And minimize to tray works flawlessly for me.... although I have to admit that I use neither windows media player nor word...

Regarding styles, I recommend replacing them if the new style is, well, newer. There were a number of issues with styles in the RCs, so a newer version ought to translate to fewer headaches for you due to style issues.

 Re: bb4win_mod Discussion Thread
Actually I didn't really like the packaged styles (except for nightblue), so I modded it to fit my taste. There's a reason this isn't called orangebox, you know?

 Re: bb4win_mod Discussion Thread
Haha, yes, but then again, it's not called Bluebox, either. I agree, nightBlue is the best of the styles that are bundled with bbWin_Mod, although babushka is best at showing off the potential of the system. However, Ease will turn out to be very well done too once you apply the recommended wallpaper. Try it.

 Re: bbWinSkin|bbLeanSkinMod - discussion thread
You don't need # anymore in front of 6-digit hex colour codes? What is "menu.volume" for? Window titlebar overlapping application menus is reduced as the value for "window.title.marginWidth" is decreased. But even at 0 there's still some overlapping.

 Re: bb4win_mod Discussion Thread
I adjusted the Babushka style a bit to better fit my tastes, and my display (just smaller margins, fonts and shadow offsets, I didn't mess with the colours). I also fixed a couple of typos. Incidentally, this also eases the menu overlapping issue. So here it is in case anybody would like to try it. Attachment:

Re: How Do The "New" Gradients Work?
Quote: The existing alternatives are:
* Color.splitTo & ColorTo.splitTo - used by Openbox, (reluctantly) supported by xoblite bb4 beta, bbClean eliteforce 10 May build, bb4win_mod * Color0 & Color3 - supported by xoblite bb4 beta, bbClean eliteforce 10 May build, bb4win_mod * splitColor & splitColorTo - supported by xoblite bb4 beta(?), bb4win_mod * Color1 & Color4 - supported by xoblite bb4 beta I like to have alternatives. Any of this alternatives should work? I didn't tried by doing a style for the bb4win_mod, but one thing I really like it don't crash, at least when I was using it. I'll give it more testings and see if... Ok, I didn't read all, only the last isn't supported by bb4win_mod. [edit] It crashes when I try to change some configurations on bbWinSkin and in bbSystemBar, and crashes Firefox. But the possibilities with styleing is really impressive. I did some tests with styles and... wow One question: there is no support for marginWidth in styles?

 Re: bb4win_mod Discussion Thread
Ser VI: apologies for having moved your post here, but its questions seemed to be dealing more with bb4win_mod itself - rather than all the bb4win shells at the same time. ser VI wrote: It crashes when I try to change some configurations on bbWinSkin and in bbSystemBar, and crashes Firefox. If you are getting crashes with *all* the *final* pack components, please can you give more details so that this can be fixed for everyone's benefit. Some work was done on MarginWidths in the final 1.18 build. Things should now be working as required (see here). Not all style elements support MarginWidth changes - see the list on (the bottom of) the Notes for Stylists page in the Documentation or online here.

 Re: bb4win_mod Discussion Thread
Unkamunka,
it doesn't bother me too much, but it seems like the incomplete rendering of a window's titlebar (inactive windows only) has gotten worse compared to RC3. There it happened very rarely anymore, but now it's quite frequent with FF. On the plus side, so far it looks like FF is the only application afflicted by this phenomenon.

 Re: bb4win_mod Discussion Thread
Hi everybody. Leaving aside all the style issue, I have one problem with the 1.18mod builds on XP/SP3 and bbmod set to be the shell : I boot with usb-devices plugged in. If I use bblean 1.16/bbClean Builds I get the the "Safe Remove" icon. I don't have this with bbmod 1.18. I did a clean install/Copy everything as is into a new folder and used "blackbox.exe -install". Rebooted. No joy. Regards Wanderer

This was not the case in the (never released) 1.17 build, and ATM it looks like it will take a fair amount of recompiling to find out where this problem crept in. All being well, there should be a fix for this in bb4win_mod 1.19. It is too early to tell whether or not the work that took place on MinimiseToTray functionality has created this problem.

 Re: bb4win_mod Discussion Thread
I installed bb4win_mod yesterday, ran it for a while, but after a second restart I started getting this Windows | No Disc error. Looks similar to this. I'd love to run any version of Blackbox again, but it seems this annoying error keeps showing up in my face whenever I start windows, or starting a program like Photoshop or games. I'm on a Sony Vaio laptop with Windows Vista Home if that gives any clues. Any help would be awesome.
