Months-old convert to the *box here. The almighty *box makes a lot more sense as an interface metaphor than turning your computer into a "desktop." I presently use OpenBox, but remain interested in learning more about Fluxbox, Blackbox, Pekwm, etc.
Welcome to the *box Forums.
I had used the Xfce desktop environment, almost since my Day One with Linux.
A couple years ago, I switched to using Openbox WM (ala Crunchbang)
For the past year, I have become an Avid Fluxbox User.
I find Fluxbox to be much easier to use and configure than Openbox - and simpler.
Everything with Fluxbox is a 'script' file and all located in the same place . . . makes lots of sense.
Plus, you get transparency, without a separate xcomposite-app ... and a self-updating Menu
I would suggest, that you install (from the package mgr) whichever Window Manager you might be interested in ... and 'play with it'
A little experimentation is a good thing . . . "tweak-it"
