Bluetooth-modem on Linux Mint
I have tried to connect to the internet using my bluetooth modem on linux mint. The bluetooth-connection (setting up the Access-Point as modem) works, but when I try to connect to the *net (using a small programm called "Bongosurfer"), the syslog shows the following: syslog wrote: Apr 7 01:45:19 alfa-desktop pppd[9103]: pppd 2.4.4 started by root, uid 0 Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: timeout set to 40 seconds Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: report (CONNECT) Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: abort on (ERROR) Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: abort on (BUSY) Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: abort on (NO CARRIER) Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: abort on (NO DIALTONE) Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: send (ATZ^M) Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: expect (OK) Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: ATZ^M^M Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: OK Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: -- got it Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: send (ATDT01920787^M) Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: expect (CONNECT) Apr 7 01:45:20 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: ^M Apr 7 01:45:21 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: ATDT01920787^M^M Apr 7 01:45:21 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: CONNECT Apr 7 01:45:21 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: -- got it Apr 7 01:45:21 alfa-desktop chat[9110]: send (^M) Apr 7 01:45:21 alfa-desktop pppd[9103]: Serial connection established. Re: Bluetooth-modem on Linux Mint
My configuration is like this: PC->Stick (a Typhoon, dunno much else, because I don't have a package and it only says something like "Typhoon Bluetooth 2.0" on it) --Bluetooth--> Fritz Bluetooth-Access Point i have to look up the specifics, will do tomorrow...if I don't forget...

Is it an USB stick? if so, lsusb can output quite a lot of information. lspci works well too on pci stuff.

Re: Bluetooth-modem on Linux Mint
IT WORKS!
I am finally surfing the internet using Linux!
I now know how to use wvdial to set up an internet connection, but I would rather use bongosurfer , which still doesn't work...
Well, for the moment I am just happy that I can browse lostinthebox from a different operating system.

Bluetooth modem on Linux Mint
Hello
I have Mint dual boot on an X60 IMB xp pro. I was wondering why the sound is so much better using Mint. On XP the sound distorts crackling sound.
This is my first experience with Linux and...I kinda I like it.
